Seasons in our life

I like to picture different periods in our life as seasons just like the weather. We might be in a fair weather, sunny spell, but storms and cold spurts can pop up and sometimes they do last for a period of time. Thinking like this helps remind us when we feel like maybe our life is bad or that things are not getting better that it will not last forever. We are not living like the Truman show where all the details are controlled and the day operates a certain way.

We are going to fail,

fall down

and most likely struggle with something at some point,

but even during the rainiest season we must remember to sprinkle in our own sunshine.

Sprinkling our own sunshine can come in so many forms, but I suggest you have a few key ways under your sleeve you can pull out when you’re in a funk and need to shake it off. For me I use music and love to have dance parties when I need a pick me up or I need an outlet. I’ve also been known to have a cinnamon roll or two to help sweeten me up when things aren’t going according to plan. What’s something that helps you when you need some comfort and can get you to smile and roll out of what you’ve been going through?

Being able to remind yourself when the shit is hitting the fan and your life feels like its working against you, that this is not going to last forever. I might be riding out the eye of the hurricane, but after when things settle I can readjust and pick up and continue forward. This ultimately is utilizing a growth mindset vs a closed mindset. And when you can see the hope and label this period of time as a season and see it as temporary then you can better understand how to handle it and keep moving through it.

What season of your life are you in right now?
