Gratitude
I’ve recently been feeling extra appreciative of small things in my life or certain people I have been able to spend more time with.
Over the last two years I have been able to really learn who is important to me, the importance of how I spend my time and who I am surrounded by. I’m getting better at keying into how I feel around certain individuals and who I’m letting have access to me.
Who are your top people you can go to with a problem or good news and they help support you? I’ve learned its important when sharing certain things about myself with others, but I recently learned to also be cautious of who you share your wins with. If we open ourselves up and someone stomps on our good day or picks it apart, how supportive are they to us then? My good news is just as valuable and sacred to me. Somedays I have to fight hard to keep the darkness at bay and having people celebrate my small wins is crucial in creating my support system or tribe.
I have learned how much I appreciate small gestures from others like being wished happy birthday, getting a card in the mail, or a treat because someone thought of me. My love language is touch and gifts and I love finding unique gifts for others and also surprising people with small things when they are least expecting it.
Whether your love language is gifts or not, remembering the people that we want to hear from regularly and appreciating them in our own unique way is a great way to share love and gratitude. Remember it’s the little things that add up. And gratitude is a powerful tool in helping us shift in how we perceive the world and maybe even our life. What are you grateful for? Who is someone you’re appreciative of?
