Is it one day or is it day one?
Is it one day or is it day one. I read this from one of my favorite people, Mel Robbins, and it clicked and hit home in a hard way. We often put aside all the things we want to do for days, months, and sometimes even years. I was challenged recently to come up with 111 wishes of things I want. I was like ok, I can do this, until I got to 30 and I felt I was reaching. I felt like I was grasping for things. But then I had to really lean into the things I want and not set up barriers for myself saying that it wasn’t possible. These dreams, wishes, and desires range from tattoos, vacations, having children, and various experiences. For this exercise I realized what I most want are not things, but experiences or trips with loved ones. Seeing this down on paper made me actually realize what my truest desires are and what I am doing to help bring them closer to reality and not just a whim.
Breathing life into our dreams is one of the first steps along with acknowledging that they actually exist. Once we know they exist we need to start channeling energy and steps to making them our reality. I have wanted aspects of my childhood back, wishing I learned skills or had more time to play so instead of complaining I started channeling my inner beth. I began playing and letting myself learn and have fun in a safe way without pressure or concern. I strapped my knee pads on and plugged in a playlist and began roller skating! Boom! I can do cool things and I can be more than just my job as my sense of self identity.
